Textures checked in with The Age of Metal

DIMMU BORGIR - Eonian

Dutch prog metallers Textures are currently on their first US tour with Periphery, The Contortionist and The Human Abstract. Their new album Dualism drops on 9/27 in North America.  The Age of Metal had the chance to catch up with bass player Remko Tielemans and guitarist Bart Hennephof during their tour date in Scottsdale, and ask them about the upcoming album, the band’s line up changes, and their new music video.

This is your first US tour. How’s it going so far? Do you see any differences touring in the US vs. in Europe?

What can you tell us about the new album? Is there anything you want your fans in the US to know about it?

Tell us about the album artwork for Dualism. Who designed it, and what’s the concept behind it?

You guys have played a couple shows in India. How was your experience playing there?

What’s it been like moving to Nuclear Blast Records so far?

You guys have a new keyboardist and vocalist. How has their addition shaped the band and your sound on the new album?

You guys handled production on the album. Why did you decide to do this instead of hiring an outside producer? How do you think it influenced the new album?

You released a new music video for the track ‘Reaching Home’ today. What can you tell us about it? What’s the concept behind the video?

Was the writing process any different on this one vs. the previous ones?

Do you have anything big planned for the record’s release date?

What are your plans after this tour?

Here’s their new video for ‘Reaching Home’… check it out:
