The past december 14th 2011, we had the chance to see Sylosis performed live as they opened for As I Lay Dying during their Decade of Destruction tour celebrating the 10 years of the band. Even though that Sylosis lost their guitar player Alex Bailey at the beginning of the tour due an accident in which he broke his wrist and forced to sit the rest of the tour, but luckily the British band found a stage replacement on Brandon Ellis (Arsis) who filled up for Alex during the rest of the tour.
The band went on stage before 7 pm and put a hell of a show playing songs like Empyreal and Reflexions Through Fire out of their recent album Edge Of The Earth that was release on March 2011, they also played material of their first album Conclusion Of An Age including Teras. Even though that by the time the band hit the stage the venue was half full, people response to the band’s music was rather positive and it was in a good way to kick off the night.
We did an interview with Sylosis that night, but unfortunately events lead to the lost of that recording, and we were unable to deliver what the guys tell us about their tour, Alex’s accident and their album. Next time they hit town we will be there to get their story.
