With a combination of skull crushing riffs, drums, bass, and guttural vocals, Cannibal Corpse emerged from New York in the late 80’s to become one of the most renowned bands in the genre. Besides their music, they’re well known for their controversial song titles, lyrics, album names and album artwork, making them frequent targets of censorship. After making a run of shows across the US and Europe in support of their 12th album Torture, the band has returned to the states to headline the Summer Slaughter Tour.
On July 23rd, we not only got to see them live at The Venue Scottsdale, but also had the pleasure of interviewing their drummer, one of Cannibal Corpse’s original members, Paul Mazurkiewicz. We talked about their new album, the tour, violence with house keys, the appearance they’ll be making at Knot Fest this year, and about what’s in store for them in the future.
