Established in 1999, NIGHTBRINGER was created as a conduit for the contemplation on the mysteries of death as it is understood in the tradition of the art magical. The band have an uncompromising, orthodox approach to black metal, as showcased on 2011’s ‘Hierophany of the Open Grave’: Characterized by cacophonous walls of distortion, haunting melodies, and occult lyrics revering the unholy. Following the release of “Hierophany…”, the band returned with ‘Ego Dominus Tuus’ (2014), The album, described as “haunting reality check of the darkness that is around us and the darkness that consumes us” (Decibel Magazine), “a unique album that has earned its place on anyone’s list of the year’s best black metal” (No Clean Singing), “…wildly intense but atmospheric. Oh, and evil.” (Metalsucks) and “…superbly executed, and will please fans of no-frills, ferocious black metal” (Revolver Magazine) is streaming here.
NIGHTBRINGER has made select rare appearances in the United States and Europe as part of various metal festivals; these include Maryland Deathfest, Under the Black Sun Festival, and the cult Gathering of the Shadows.
