NIGHTBRINGER stream new track, “Of the Key and Crossed Bones”

DESTRUCTION - Thrash Anthems II

Underground black metal cult NIGHTBRINGER are streaming a third new track off their forthcoming album ‘Terra Damnata’. The track, a furious whirlwind of black metal fury is titled “Of the Key and Crossed Bones” and is streaming now at Invisible Oranges.

Regarding the track, vocalist ar-Ra’d al-Iblis comments: “The lyrics work as a hymn to the goddess Hecate as she is depicted in the Chaldean oracles, a series of mystical revelations most probably dating from the 2nd century AD. Here She is understood as the psychopomp and gatekeeper that leads the soul through the perilous passages of the otherworld, unto the light of the Father, identified as the divine Sun.

NIGHTBRINGER recently announced new tour dates. The tour begins in late May and sees the band traveling to and from Maryland Deathfest. Following the Deathfest appearance, NIGHTBRINGER will will return to Colorado and headline the legendary underground Gathering of Shadows festival. Established in 1999, NIGHTBRINGER was created as a conduit for the contemplation on the mysteries of death as it is understood in the tradition of the art magical. The band have an uncompromising, orthodox approach to black metal, as showcased on 2011’s ‘Hierophany of the Open Grave’: Characterized by cacophonous walls of distortion, haunting melodies, and occult lyrics revering the unholy. Following the release of “Hierophany…”, the band returned with ‘Ego Dominus Tuus’ (2014), The album, described as “haunting reality check of the darkness that is around us and the darkness that consumes us” (Decibel Magazine), “a unique album that has earned its place on anyone’s list of the year’s best black metal” (No Clean Singing), “…wildly intense but atmospheric. Oh, and evil.” (Metalsucks) and “…superbly executed, and will please fans of no-frills, ferocious black metal” (Revolver Magazine) is streaming here.

NIGHTBRINGER has made select rare appearances in the United States and Europe as part of various metal festivals; these include Maryland Deathfest, Under the Black Sun Festival, and the cult Gathering of the Shadows.
