Heading from Highland Park, CA comes Huntress a heavy metal band formed by ex members of Professor, Dark Black and Skeletonwitch. Leaded by Banshee Jill Janus, who has a rare four octave voice range (Freddy Mercury, Mariah Carey). Jill started her musical career touring Europe as a teenage opera starlet, upon returning to the US she spend some time on the L.A club scene under the name of Dj Tuesdae before joining the band. She is a follower of the occult and that is reflected on Huntress‘s music and lyrics.
Last year Huntress signed with Napalm Records and released the video for Eight Of Swords the first single out of their first full studio album titled “Spell Eater” which will be release this coming April 26th in Europe, and May 10 in the US. the music created by Huntress can only be described as straight forward heavy metal
The Age Of Metal has the chance to talk with Jill Janus about the album, her musical formation, her spiritual beliefs, the influence of metal on her life, the upcoming tours of the band with Turisas, Alestorm and Arkona as part of the Paganfest America 2012, and with Dragonforce and Holy Grail weeks later.
