Veteran American metal band Armored Saint have recently released their new live album Carpe Noctum. The album is the first live album the band releases since Saints Will Conquer in 1986, Fans of Armored Saint around the world had requested a live album for a long time, and now the band graciously delivered a full live album recorded at the infamous Wacken Open Air in Germany during their summer festival tour in 2015.
Carpe Noctum is not only important because it’s the first live recording of Armored Saint in the last 30 years, but because it contains live material from their discography after 1986 that besides from shaky YouTube videos has never been included on a live album before. Songs like Reing of Fire, Left Hook From Right Field, Mess, and Last Train Home are some of the anthems that the band had included on this new live release.
After a successful US tour last year with Queensryche, Armored Saint is getting ready to kick off their 2017 schedule with an upcoming Ireland and the UK run followed with a few dates in the US in May.
During NAMM 2017, The Age of Metal had the chance to speak with Armored Saint‘s guitar player Jeff Duncan. We talked about Carpe Noctum, their tour with Queensryche and what is next for the Saint in 2017.
