Huntress is a band that has turned heads right and left since the release of their video clip Eight Of Swords last October, and that is include on their upcoming album Spell Eater. But how a band has created so much talk with only a video clip? Well last night that question for me was answer, they rule live and their music is just straight in your face Heavy Metal. Not only Jill Janus singer of Huntress can brought you down to your knees with the spell of her beauty, but also punish you with the power of her voice.
I got to the venue around 8 pm and local pagan warriors Adavant were on stage bringing the chaos with their songs about mythical quests and drinking adventures. At this point, the night was starting to get magical. Around 9 pm Huntress took the stage and played almost the whole album, including of course Eight Of Swords, Spell Eater, Snow Witch, and many others (I just don’t want to give away the whole set list for you guys). The crowd was content and quite enchanted by the theatrical skills of Jill on stage. Her voice was powerful, and the band was tight.
It was an awesome show to kick off the band’s first full North American tour. If you have the chance to catch any date of Paganfest America 2012, do it is a great band to see live.
Here are some of the shots we took from last night’s show
