Danny Marino of The Agonist checked in with The Age Of Metal

From Montreal, Canada The Agonist originally called “The Tempest” the group was founded in 2004.  They released their first album “Once Only Imagined” in 2007.  Currently on their 3rd studio album “Prisoners,” The Agonist has definitely created their own unique sound that has gained them fans all over the world.

Over the years their popularity has increased and their sound and style has evolved.  The talented individuals of The Agonist are: Alissa White-Gluz – Vocals, Danny Marino – Guitar, Chris Kells – Bass, Simon McKay- Drums, Pascal “Paco” Jobin – Guitar.

On April 26 at the Marquee Theater Danzig with DoyleCorrosion Of Conformity and The Agonist were set to play. Unfortunately the day of Danzig was forced to cancel due to illness.  Thankfully the Marquee allowed the other bands to still play and as true musicians The Agonist and  Corrosion Of Conformity went on with the show.  Despite not having Danzig play that night the show was pretty packed.  The Agonist did a phenomenal job on stage and got a great crowd response.  Their high energy and extreme vocals from Alissa White-Gluz really got the crowd going.  The fans that night was a mixture of young and an older generation and everybody really got into their set listening and appreciating how unique and original they sounded.  They had a great set list which included songs like: “You’re Coming With Me, Business Suits and Combat Boots, Predator and Prayer, Dead Ocean, Panophobia & Thank You, Pain.”  Some of the members of the band went to the merch stand and gladly signed autographs and took pictures with their fans; humble and nice, members from The Agonist are truly great people.

The Age of Metal was able to speak with Danny Marino (guitarist) about the tour, their new album “Prisoners,” future plans and much much more.
