Dying Fetus is the one band who has remained true to the underground death metal scene. This band influences countless death metal bands. And with that being said, no band has the speed and strength that Dying Fetus possesses. Dying Fetus proves their “Stop at Nothing” legacy — that has lasted over twenty years — with continual touring and releasing new music. With writing the most brutal material and headlining shows all over the world, Dying Fetus will always slay. It’s safe to say that this band is a landmark in death metal history.
With writing the most brutal material and headlining shows all over the world, Dying Fetus will always slay. It’s safe to say that this band is a landmark in death metal history. I’ve seen Dying Fetus live several times, and my experience did not falter when they performed on the 2016 Metal Alliance Tour. Tampa, Florida was engulfed in older classics such as Praise the Lord (Opium of the Masses) as well as a new song called Induce Terror. And the crowd? The death metal capital moshed and circle pitted their way throughout the entirety of Dying Fetus’ set. Overall, death metal could be heard loud and clear in Tampa at The Orpheum. This is why I will never miss a Dying Fetus set!
Overall, Dying Fetus is a band that stays true to their sound and to extreme metal. No matter how much touring they do, what their day jobs are or how much music they release, Dying Fetus fans can only expect Dying Fetus. And with a new album expected to be released toward the end of the year, Dying Fetus fans can anticipate more grunting and blast beats!
The Age of Metal was able to speak to Dying Fetus drummer Trey Williams during Metal Alliance Tour 2016 at The Orpheum in Tampa, Florida. During the interview, we discuss the Metal Alliance Tour as well as the touring they have planned for the rest of the year, their new song Induce Terror and what can be said about their new album, the challenges of writing a Dying Fetus song and how they will never stray away from extreme music.
