Evergrey‘s new album, Hymns For The Broken is bound to be released on September 30th (US release) and so far it could be described, as one of the stronger releases the band had done in years. Glorious Collision, their previous album had some interesting moments, but it falls short to how amazing and deep Hymns For The Broken is.
Is not how personal and intimate is Hymns For The Broken, is how self-reflective and brutally honest this album can be. Songs like King Of Errors, Wake A Change, or A New Dawn are the proof of how good this album is, and that its only the tip of the iceberg. The reunification of the old line up, coming back not only as musicians, but as friends that missed each other not only at the pub sharing a drink, but also as musicians, playing together and sharing the stage together. Hymns For The Broken, more than an album is the reawakening of the link between five Swedish friends, that love to make and perform their music together.
A couple of days ago, we at The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with Tom Englund & Jonas Ekdahl of Evergrey, during their stop at ProgPower USA XV in Atlanta, GA last weekend, were they offered an exclusive listening party for their new album, Hymns For The Broken. We talked about the album, Evergrey as a band, their future plans, and more.
