Around this time last year, Canadian Black Metal outfit Necronomicon was releasing their fifth studio album. Advent of The Human God via Season of Mist Records, an advance of what we would experience months later when they toured the US with Rotting Christ and Carach Angren. We talked recently to Rob ‘The Witch’, vocalist and guitar player of Necronomicon about the album, guitar gear and what they have been up to.
Necronomicon is perhaps the biggest black metal band that Canada has ever produced, with nearly 30 years on the scene, they have been a fundamental part of the interpretation of the original black metal culture in North America. After all, they have five studio albums under their belt and the experience of touring with bands like Dimmu Borgir, Deicide, and Septicflesh to name some of them.
Last year Necronomicon released their latest album Advent of The Human God an eleven track ritual that was hightly praised by the media and fans. After the release of the album Necronomicon embarqued on a tour that included Marduk, Rotting Christ and Carach Angren. Unfortunately Marduk had to drop out from the tour due to a visa problem which indirectly allowed the rest of the package for a longer set, which was great to see a bit longer set from Necronomicon.
