PROSTHETIC RECORDS is excited to announce the addition of Arizona-based doom outfit SPIRIT ADRIFT to its ever-growing roster. Formed in 2015, SPIRIT ADRIFT immediately started writing and recording their debut EP “Behind – Beyond,” which Prosthetic will release worldwide on February 26.
Described by the band as “vital excercises in meditation and catharsis born out of necessity, not desire,” the 28-minute EP presents listeners with a psychedelic expanse encompassed across two profoundly heavy, dynamically captivating tracks influenced by riff legends including Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Neurosis. A lengthy preview of the first track, “Specter of Ruin,” can heard in a new teaser clip via YouTube (https://youtu.be/Nl6m-RE5x5o) or streaming below.
SPIRIT ADRIFT are intent upon carving their own path in the realm of heavy music. Special live performances and a full-length album loom on the horizon.

“Spirit Adrift are doom for the new age, delivering a swift kick in the arse and an injection of vitality to a scene that so sorely needs it.” – MetalSucks
“Spirit Adrift take all that this enigmatic artist holds dear, and create washes of sound that take in doom, psychedelic rock and soaring vocals which come together to pay homage to the past while striding defiantly into the future. ‘Behind – Beyond’ is a stunning work and this debut is sure to pique the interest with its gorgeous, fuzzed out progressions and solid foundations of rock.” – Metal Hammer
“‘Behind-Beyond’ mixes prog, doom and the creepiest songs in the hymnal, and brings it all to a rolling boil of melancholy and atmosphere. The result is a psychic journey well worth the taking.” – Revolver
“Black Sabbath and Neurosis are easy touchpoints for this ambitious new doom project, but Spirit Adrift also gathers strength from Across Tundras’ dusky tones and YOB’s slowly-unfolding tectonic shifts. ‘Behind – Beyond’ unfurls purposefully and with grace to paint a desert-tinted portrait of modern American doom.” – Kim Kelly (NOISEY)
