Parker Jameson of Starkill on touring and Shadow Sleep

Since Starkill debuted with Fires of Life (2013) we knew this was a band that was destined to carry the torch of American melodic death metal, their style was born from the influences of bands like Children of Bodom, Nightwish, Wintersun and Amon Amarth and their own brew of American Metal. The result of that mix is clearly displayed on their two latest albums Virus of the Mind (2014) and Shadow Sleep (2016).

In the live stage, Starkill is a party animal type of band that enjoys every second of their set on stage, and sometimes off the stage as we saw at 70000 Tons of Metal where they were a great sensation even though one of the shows was around 5am. More recently they toured North America with Epica and Moonspell right before 70k, and last August the accompanied Neo Obliviscaris and Black Crown Initiate for a trek around the states.

Last week they stopped by Mesa, AZ as they were part of the Dark Tranquillity tour along with Swallow the Sun, and Enforcer on their recently finished North American tour. The show that Starkill delivered this time around was a bit different as they are promoting Shadow Sleep which was released last November.

Before their show here in Mesa, AZ we talked with vocalist and guitar player Parker Jameson about the tour with Dark Tranquillity, Shadow Sleep, and what is going to happen with Starkill on 2017.
