NIGHTBRINGER release new album, ‘Terra Damnata’

Underground black metal cult NIGHTBRINGER have released their new album ‘Terra Damnata’ worldwide. The album, a furious whirlwind of black metal fury hailed as “a work that’s both refined and arguably important enough to overstep the limitations of the black metal genre altogether, even as it studiously functions within its framework” (Decibel Magazine), is streaming now at Cvlt Nation.

Regarding the album, vocalist Naas Alcameth comments: “With Terra Damnata we have tread even deeper into the labyrinth of certain esoteric traditions and sacred mythos, closer to the heart of the living darkness that destroys all and liberates but few. The spirit of the album is one of an ever backwards turning and embracing of both terror and ecstasis, love and death, before the gods and daemons of the Age of Misrule.”

‘Terra Damnata’ is NIGHTBRINGER’s fifth full-length and is available across multiple formats at the Season of Mist E-Shop.

NIGHTBRINGER recently announced new tour dates. The tour begins in late May and sees the band traveling to and from Maryland Deathfest. Following the Deathfest appearance, NIGHTBRINGER will will return to Colorado and headline the legendary underground Gathering of Shadows festival. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.

Established in 1999, NIGHTBRINGER was created as a conduit for the contemplation on the mysteries of death as it is understood in the tradition of the art magical. The band have an uncompromising, orthodox approach to black metal, as showcased on 2011’s ‘Hierophany of the Open Grave’: Characterized by cacophonous walls of distortion, haunting melodies, and occult lyrics revering the unholy. Following the release of “Hierophany…”, the band returned with ‘Ego Dominus Tuus’ (2014), The album, described as “haunting reality check of the darkness that is around us and the darkness that consumes us” (Decibel Magazine), “a unique album that has earned its place on anyone’s list of the year’s best black metal” (No Clean Singing), “…wildly intense but atmospheric. Oh, and evil.” (Metalsucks) and “…superbly executed, and will please fans of no-frills, ferocious black metal” (Revolver Magazine) is streaming here.

NIGHTBRINGER has made select rare appearances in the United States and Europe as part of various metal festivals; these include Maryland Deathfest, Under the Black Sun Festival, and the cult Gathering of the Shadows.
