Matt Sinner of Primal Fear talked to us about ‘Delivering The Black’

Primal Fear is one of those bands that represents the pure Teutonic heavy metal sound that bands like Helloween & Gamma Ray created back in the 80’s and 90’s. The band returns this year with their 10th studio album Delivering The Black. This album stays true to the sound that Primal Fear had developed, but the soul and the heaviness within makes it one of their best works to date.

From the opening song King For A Day, these album would put you to head-bang wildly. The guitar riffs, and the powerful voice of singer Ralf Scheepers are just amazingly powerful. I listened to 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) and Unbreakable, and I believe they are powerful records, but Delivering The Black takes the sound of Primal Fear to a different level, a crisper sound and more heavy than before. Songs like When Death Comes Knocking or Delivering The Black are the perfect example of heavy metal done right.

Not content with having a new album out, Primal Fear plans on have a busy 2014 as they will touring Europe, and returning to North America after a four years of absence, plus they had booked some dates on the European summer festival circuit. Overall It seems like 2014 will be the year of the eagle.

The Age Of Metal recently spoke with Mat Sinner, bass player and founder member of Primal Fear. We talked about Delivering The Black, their touring schedule, and their North American tour.
