Founded in 1985, Morgoth is one of the oldest institutions in Death Metal when the genre was just an idea, they were there along bands like Autopsy, Dissection, Unleashed and many other great bands that gave birth to this metal genre back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The band released three studio albums: Cursed (1991), Odeum (1993) Feel Sorry For The Fanatic (1996) but disbanded in 1997.
Morgoth reunited in 2010, and performed at Wacken Open Air 2011. This year the band will be participating in various metal festivals around Europe and is part of the roster for Barge To Hell cruise departing Miami this December. The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with vocalist and founding member Marc Grewe about the band’s upcoming CD/DVD Cursed To Live recorded at the Way Of Darkness Festival in 2011 that will be released this June, the Maryland Death Fest, Barge To Hell, and the future plans of the band.
