Liam Cormier of Cancer Bats talked to The Age of Metal

Ahh, the Cancer Bats. A band I’m quite fond of. They got started right before the big wave of hardcore hit, which is fitting considering how different from many hardcore bands they are. I’m happy they’re getting so big – I still love Hail Destroyer, and their new album, Dead Set on Living, incorporates another genre I love: stoner metal. They’re definitely the most unique band on this bill. My only wish? This was in a basement. Only problem is that GWAR would flood the basement with their gear. Their live show was quite fun, and they even got people to mosh to the Beastie Boys. If that’s not metal, I don’t know what is.

I spoke to Liam Cormier, the frontman, about a variety of things, like stoner metal, airplanes, and the aforementioned new wave of hardcore overcoming the metal populace.
