Austrian crossover revelation Kontrust has conquered Europe with their mix of pop & nu-metal riffs, and silly but fun lyrics. The band released their third album Second Hand Wonderland last year, and in 2013 they’ve dedicated themselves to tour in Europe, that is how they landed at the Metal Female Voices Fest XI in Belgium last October.
Kontrust‘s sounds is not the typical crossover metal band that fusions metalcore with black metal, and boom you got something ‘new’. Their music is driven by fun, they used pop, and nu-metal riffs to create a musical cocktail that open-minded people would enjoy. Last October they played at Metal Female Voices XI in Belgium. Their show a full energy raiser, that can be compared to a college party. Their use of stage props as red flags in their microphones and hand puppets gives personality and a touch of humor to their show. One of the main features of the band is the duets between singer Agata and male singer Steve which are dynamic and fun to watch.
Their set list was composed by songs like: Adrenalin, Face And Filter, Sock ‘N’ Doll, The Butterfly Effect, Hey DJ, The Smash Song and Bomba. The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with Agata, Stephan & Mike after their début show at Metal Female Voices Festival XI. We talked about their show, their latest album, and what is next for them.
