Toxic Holocaust is one of the most unique thrash metal bands. Their signature sound of fusing punk and metal inspired a large part of the underground metal scene. Their sound is singular, yet is enjoyable; qualities that truly make a successful band. With their fifth studio album Chemistry of Consciousness being released along with a supporting tour, Toxic Holocaust will conquer your mind.
Chemistry of Consciousness has to be one of the most vigorous albums written. Every track is filled with agility and rage. Every quality about the album is powerful: the drug-using mind-control lyrical concept, the velocity of the playing and guttural-style vocals. The only thing that can match these nefarious elements is a live show. Toxic Holocaust will be touring North America in support of the album, and it will be one hell of a show!
The Age of Metal was able to speak to vocalist Joel Grind. In the interview we discuss information about Chemistry of Consciousness such as the lyrical theme and their more punk-influenced sound. We also discuss the Grind’s view of doing drugs and how he views about both the metal and punk scene.
