After two years of silence, and a hiatus that ended with the band’s return to the spotlight at this year’s 70.000 tons of metal cruise. The Haunted will release a new album this August 25th (Europe), and September 2nd (North America), the new record titled Exit Wounds sees the return of former members; Marco Aro (vocals) and Adrian Erlandsson (drums) who rejoined the band in 2013, and new member Ola Englund (guitars).

Exit Wounds, it seems to be an album that takes The Haunted to their very beginning, and to the sound that is now the backbone of the band’s trademark sound. From the two songs the band had released online already (Cutting TeethTime (Will Not Heal), we can tell this is going to be a more straight-forward thrash metal album than its predecessor Unseen (2011). The Haunted seems to be more driven on this record, as the combination between the returning members and the genius sound of Englund‘s guitar sound brings the band into a more aggressive and wild path.

Recently, The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with The Haunted‘s guitar player and founder member, Patrik Jensen. We talked about the band’s comeback, the meaning behind Exit Wounds, the guest appearances on the album, and what the band will be up to during the rest of this year.
