HVÁLL of Vreid checked in with The Age Of Metal

Formed in 2004 from the ashes of Windir, and continuing on the black metal path. Vreid had recorded six studio albums, and toured around Europe and North America many times, Their style quite modern and you can find influences from Old Man’s Child, Agathodaimon and Arcturus within their music.

At the beginning of the year they released a new album called Welcome Farewell that followed the success of their previous release V. Vreid‘s music on this new album is a bit more melodic than their previous releases, still keeping the heaviness and aggression that are key in their music, their new album is a total blast from beginning to end. Most recently it was announced that the band will join Melechesh on a North American tour this fall.

The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with HVÁLL, bass player and founder member of Vreid. We talked about Welcome Farewell, their tour in India for the first time as a central part of the ”Questionings” performance, and their experience as the first metal band that performed in the national opera house in Oslo.
