For the last 20 years Paradise Lost have consolidated themselves as one of the pioneers on Gothic Metal, and one of the most influential bands on the genre along with Type O Negative, Tiamat, The Gathering, and Theater Of Tragedy. During all this time the band has maintained a pretty steady line up, with minimal changes through this two decades.
After three years of absence Paradise Lost returns with a new album. Tragic Idol, a very strong album, really dark musically and lyrically speaking, and with a more heavy approach than it’s predecessor Faith Divide Us – Death United Us.
The Age Of Metal had the chance to chat from England with guitarist and founder member Greg Mackintosh. We talked about Tragic Idol, their view on the state of Gothic Metal, their upcoming tour, and the future plans of the band.
