Eddie Hermida of Suicide Silence talked with us about You Can’t Stop Me

The fate of Suicide Silence was an uncertain one after the tragic passing of their vocalist and founding member Mitch Lucker in 2012. But giving up wouldn’t be a decorous act to do for the band or for the memory and legacy that Mitch helped to build. Henceforth, the remaining members of Suicide Silence decided to carry on, and invited Eddie Hermida (ex-All Shall Perish) to be the new singer of the band, and continue with the band and its legacy.

Since that announcement 8 months had passed, and the band has been busy playing shows, rehearsing, and recording a new album called You Can’t Stop Me. The album represents the fighting spirit within the band, ‘Never give up, never back down, & never surrender’. With that in mind, Suicide Silence will deliver their new record this July 11th (Europe), July 14th (UK), and July 15th (USA) via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The new album was recorded last year, and was produced by Steve Evetts (Sepultura, The Dillinger Escape Plan), and it counts with guest appearances by: George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher (Cannibal Corpse) and Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Killer Be Killed). The album also features the last lyrics written by Mitch Lucker before his sudden passing.

The Age Of Metal had the chance to catch up with Eddie Hermida of Suicide Silence last Monday after a rehearsal. We talked about the new album, the songwriting process, the guest musicians on the record, The Mayhem Festival, and what is next for the band after the US summer fest.
