Chris Broderick of Act Of Defiance discussed first tour & Birth and the Burial

Act of Defiance is becoming an awakening force within today’s metal scene, which was not only confirmed when they released their début album, Birth And The Burial last August. In a personal level it was reassured as soon they took the stage last Friday at Club Red in Mesa, AZ. The talent within this new band is not only limited to the quality of its members, but it’s also due to their chemistry on stage.

Act Of Defiance came together after Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover left Megadeth last year, but the things didn’t start right away, they had some musical ideas brewing that were transformed and adapted to what today is Act Of Defiance. Their show live is not only a straight metal show, but what hook you right away  about it is that they are one of those few bands that reflect live exactly what you listen in the record.

Songs like Legion Of Lies, Obey The Fallen or Throwback sounded more than great on stage, I was impressed by how Crimson Psalm and Birth And The Burial sounded especially the efforts of Henry on vocals. Now, there is one thing that I have to point out here, and that is the audience that turn out for this show. For being a Friday night you would think that the venue would have at least 150 to 200 souls, but seeing that the turn out was around 50 people, that’s a bit sad. The package for this tour was good enough as Allegaeon sure put a hell of a show and they are one of those bands is buzzing constantly on the internet, and at the underground level. So, I was really hoping for more people to show up.

The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with Chris Broderick guitar player for Act Of Defiance about the tour, the Birth And The Burial reception, how the band came together, and what is next for Act of Defiance in 2016.
