Following the successful release of their critically lauded sophomore album “Laurestine” in 2015, Brooklyn-based blackened post-metal outfit SO HIDEOUS have announced plans for their first-ever tour dates on the West Coast.
Presented by MetalSucks, the band will appear on a two-week, co-headlining jaunt alongside SoCal black metallists Bosse-de-Nage that kicks off in Tempe, Ariz. on May 5. “As a band that tours selectively,” comments vocalist Chris Cruz, “we couldn’t be more excited to finally head over to the West Coast and perform songs that span our catalog. It’s been a long time coming.”

Described as “strikingly beautiful” (Exclaim!) and lauded as “one of the most sublime and beautiful collections of 2015” (Outburn), “Laurestine” presents an intense symphony representing the tale of one man’s post-mortem journey through the seven minutes after death, during which one’s brain is said to remain active, as he is led through his internal reflections of the past and guided through the unknown of what’s to come by a women named Laurestine. The album was recorded by Dean Baltulonis (Lucero, Sick of it All) and Chris Montgomery (Lily Allen, Mumford & Sons) and features actual orchestral and choral tracks recorded by the 30-member The First Light Orchestra.
