Carach Angren has rapidly become a very successful band in North America since they toured the continent for the first time a few years ago. Their stage presence and their unique eerie type of sound make every show not only a good metal show, but it also becomes a whole shocking visual experience. Currently, Carach Angren is back on the North American roads as support for Rotting Christ (in the first leg of their tour) and as supporting act for Kataklysm (for the second leg of the tour) in Canada and some East coast dates.
Last week they stopped by Phoenix, AZ and played at Joe’s Grotto (which they have played there three times now, soon they should start looking for a bigger venue as their fanbase grows more with every show they play here). Initially, the tour included Marduk, but because a delay with their US visas they had to drop out, which lead to Rotting Christ to headline the tour supported by Carach Angren and Canada’s Necronomicon.
This Carach Angren‘s show was far different from the one they presented at the beginning of the year. This time around, they brought Jack Owen of Deicide (ex-Cannibal Corpse) as guest guitarist for this tour, they also delivered a mixed setlist that included songs like; Lingering in an Imprint Haunting, Sir John, Spectral Infantry Battalions, and Killed and Served by the Devil were some of the nice additions to their set.
One of the things that called my attention was the immense number of fans that came out to support Carach Angren, and it seems their fanbase keeps growing more with every show they do in America. After their set we catch up with Clemens (Ardek) keyboard player of Carach Angren. We talked about the US tour, their upcoming Mexican tour, and his work in the new Pain and Ex Deo albums.
