What started as a Helloween tribute band in 2002, rapidly became a band with a sound on their own. With some of those power metal influences still lingering around, Trick or Treat has grown to be a reckoning force in the Italian metal scene. From touring with Helloween & Stratovarius to a full European tour with Sonata Arctica, these five young musicians are making heavy noises in the European metal scene. They are about to release their four studio album Rabbits’ Hill Part II.
The album continues with the concept taken from the novel Watership Down by Robert Adams, and part of this concept was already explored in their previous release Rabbits’ Hill Part I, this time around they added a few more characters to the mix. In order to give more flavor to the concept, they have enlisted guest musicians like Sara Squadrani (Ancient Bards), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), and Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex- Iced Earth).
Trick or Treat‘s new album is scheduled to be released this July with some live dates in June, July, and August 2016. The vocalist of the band Alessandro Conti is not only a known tattoo artist and singer in Italy, but he was introduced worldwide when in 2011 he joined Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody as the full-time vocalist.
The Age of Metal had the chance to speak with Alessandro Conti during Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody stop here in Mesa, AZ. We talked about Rabbits’ Hill Part II, Trick or Treat music style, the guest musicians on the new album, and touring the USA with Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody.
