Paradise Lost is one of those bands that can take credit for being pioneers not only of one genre of metal, but two genres of metal. Doom and Gothic metal, both genres had their prime on the early 90’s and for both Paradise Lost had been highly influential.
This year Paradise Lost released their 13th studio album Tragic Idol, a darker record than its predecessor Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us. Including all the heaviness and dense elements of Doom metal, mixed with the melancholy and darkness of Gothic metal, made of Tragic Idol the perfect fusion of heavy music with a lyrical dark approach.
Last Sunday The Age Of Metal had the chance to speak with Aaron Aedy guitar player of the band. We talked about Tragic Idol, their current tour with Katatonia and Devin Townsend, and the future plans for the band
