Last Saturday February 18th 2012, part of the crew of The Age Of Metal traveled to Los Angeles CA for the Symphony X, Iced Earth and Warbringer show at Club Nokia. This happened because unfortunately the tour didn’t have a date in Arizona this time around, also we needed an excuse to get out of town for the weekend.
We arrived to the venue around 2 pm due to interviews schedule with all three band before their performances. The venue, Club Nokia located on the heart of downtown L.A was a bit small, but quite modern for a metal show, with a designed style amphitheater and a long bar club style, which some of us took advantage of it. Symphony X started their set around 8:20 pm after Warbringer.
The band played eighth tracks out of their latest record Iconoclast: Iconoclast, The End Of Innocence, Dehumanized, Bastards Of The Machine, When All Is Lost, Electric Messiah and Children Of A Faceless God. For the encore they played three key tracks out of their previous release, Paradise Lost: Eve Of Seduction, Serpent’s Kiss and Set The World On Fire (The Lies Of Lies). A perfect set for a great night of progressive and power metal that only Symphony X can deliver.
Before the show we had a little chat with Michael Romeo, axe man of Symphony X about the current state of the band, Iconoclast and their upcoming plans. Here is what he told us.
